
Men's Soccer ranked No. 17 in final poll
December 6, 2011MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill is ranked 17th in the nation in the final 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll that was released today. The ranking is the highest in school history for a final poll, and the Lions are ranked in the final poll for the first time since 1998.
Mars Hill finished the 1998 season ranked No. 25 in the country.
Mars Hill (13-6-1) was selected to the NCAA Championship Tournament for the first time in the program's history and advanced to the Round of 16 with wins over Montevallo and then-ranked No. 5 Coker. The Lions are the highest ranked South Atlantic Conference team in the final poll with Anderson coming in at No. 25.
Fort Lewis, which won the National Championship on Saturday, finished first in the final standings.
