
Mars Hill Finishes Seventh at Eye Opener
August 31, 2012SPARTANBURG, S.C.-- The Mars Hill women's cross country team placed seventh at the season-opening Eye Opener event.
The Lions placed third overall among 15 Division II teams at the meet, and third among South Atlantic Conference schools that participated. Faith Trammell turned in the top time for Mars Hill with a time of 20:58, good enough for 31st overall. Jessica Viscusi was 34th overall with a time of 21:01. The Lions improved their average team from last season at the same race by 59 seconds.
Savannah Hulbert, Heidi Hooker and Shelby Robinson rounded out the top five for Mars Hill. A freshman, Hulbert turned in a time of 21:16.39 to finish 42nd in her first collegiate run.
Mars Hill's next meet will be a dual meet at Lenoir-Rhyne on Sept. 8.
