Lions Finish 10th at Tusculum Fall Classic
September 25, 2012GREENEVILLE, Tenn.-- The Mars Hill women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Tusculum Fall Classic, which concluded Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club.
The Lions shot a 158-over 734 at the two-day event. Sarah Johnson turned in Mars Hill's best score with a 26-over 170. Victoria Barrett added a 27-over 171 for the Lions. Tusculum won the team championship by one stroke over UNC Pembroke and Lincoln Memorial. Meghan Moore took home the individual championship with a five-over 149.
Lindsey Ball added a 53-over 197. Tonya Gruel-Wright shot 30 strokes lower on the second day of competition to finish 62-over par.
Mars Hill will compete in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, which begins Sept. 30 in Sunset Beach, N.C.
