
Lions run Strong Performance at Lousville Classic
September 29, 2012LOUSVILLE, Ky,-- The Mars Hill women’s cross country competed in the Louisville Classic Saturday, which featured over 120 teams and 2,000 runners from all NCAA divisions.
Three women’s races were run at the event. Mars Hill runners competed in the Women’s Blue race. The course for the event was the same course on which the Division I National Championship will be run. The Louisville Classic is the largest cross country race in the nation.
As a team, Mars Hill finished with an average time of 20:42.41- their best average time of the season.
Faith Trammell turned in the best individual performance by a Lion. Trammell ran a 19:28.87, her best time of the season, to finish 127th.
Jessica Viscusi, Savannah Hulbert and Heidi Hooker all finished with sub-21-minute times for the Lions. Anje Kidd rounded out Mars Hill’s top five.
Mars Hill will compete in the Royals Pre-Region Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 12.
