Russo Named Swimmer of the Week
October 24, 2012MARS HILL, N.C. -- Mars Hill men's swimmer Sal Russo has been named the Appalachian Swim Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, which was announced Wednesday.
Russo won four events in leading the Lions to dual-meet wins over Milligan and King (Tenn.) this past weekend. In his individual events, the freshman won the 200 IM in 2:03.81, the 200 Backstroke in 1:59.21 and the 200 Butterfly in 2:00.61. Russo also led-off the victorious 200 Medley Relay with a 25.33 Backstroke split.
Mars Hill owns a 4-2 record this season. The Lions will swim in the Fall Frenzy Invite in Charlotte, N.C., which begins Nov. 16 at 10:00 a.m.
